MCBA National show in Auburn Indiana March 2025
Show setup 2025, same bat time, same bat place. Most people don't know we cover everything in a layer of plastic and 2-5 layers of paper to keep things clean.
So many chinchillas this year! Over 300, the show ran until almost 8PM.
This year was extra interesting, a very old retired breeder brought pelts that had been done many years before for judging. Pelting in the US stopped about 5 years ago because one processor passed away of old age and the other retired. The only way to get pelts processed now is to send them in batches of 500 overseas and nobody does that. Too expensive.
This year there were a lot of young folks and the next generation of chinchilla ranchers.
Shoutout to the amazing judges Maxine and Rodger (they often donate their own time and money to fly in and judge these). My moster Black Velvet male took Champion and Tov Mosaic male too Reserve. Both angoras.
My champion angora male this year, very proud of him.
Grand show went to this stunning gray male
